What you need to know about the Hall of Fame voting, and why the Patriots are getting more votes than the Pats

The Hall of Famer whose likeness appears in the paper towels and paper towels meme on the Patriots website is getting a much bigger share of the votes than he’s getting elsewhere.

That’s according to the NHL.

The league announced Thursday that the Hall voted Wednesday to approve a $1 million donation to the Pats’ campaign.

The Pats won their first-ever playoff series in 2013, defeating the Chicago Blackhawks 3-2 in overtime.

The Patriots, who were swept by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the first round of the playoffs last year, also beat the New York Islanders in the Eastern Conference finals last season.

The NHL voted on the issue last year after the Pats lost the Stanley Cup Playoffs to the Los Angeles Kings in the final round.

The NFL also has a tiebreaker for the Hall this year.

The votes will be announced Nov. 15.
